We’ve looked out from the ground level up all the different components in the instrument internally, externally, and ask ourselves with customer feedback what can we do to improve the overall experience, how can we improve the product to absolutely maximize Its used to the customer.
We did take a look at the external form factor, if you see it’s mostly the same. We did look at a couple of different iterations trying to put the touchscreen on the back and make the instrument a little bit shorter. But ultimately everyone seems to prefer this exact form factor, so we kept it the same.
Some things that are different externally are the detector itself, It does look pretty similar, but it’s actually constructed totally differently now. We optimized the x-ray absorption and detection to massively improved contrast and sensitivity for materials that are hard to see or things that are hard to see.
Another major improvement that you’ll notice right away is our touchscreen. It’s now instead of 700, it’s a 2500 net display with a greater resolution. Just for reference an iPhone 16 is 1600 versus 2500. So It’s very easy to read in very bright sunlight conditions.
Additionally you’ll notice we have two USBC ports for both charging and data transfer, and you’ll also notice there in the center, is a removable Sim card, we have a built-in 5G modem for the fastest possible internet.
Internally the PX1 and all the APX instruments, which is our entire hand line, I have completely overhauled electronics to deliver our industry lead performance and further that performance. The processes that we’re using now are by far the most advanced we can get in the industry with integrated machine learning capabilities, which enable very powerful real time algorithms to further improve those images.
We’ve re-engineered all the analog, the digital, and the digital circus all from the ground up and by designing this completely holistically and in-house we’ve been able to optimize every aspect of the imaging performance.
All in our instruments with Apex are more powerful, more reliable, and easier to service while delivering the highest fidelity images we can possibly achieve. Best of all these instruments are shipping now. Thank you for listening, I’m excited for you to experience the difference in our new line.
